You would have to ride a very long time to recharge the battery with the Savage alternator. It is 70 watts as I remember and if you add up all the lights and the igntion curcuit draw, there isn't much left over. Makes it hard to add extra lights to the Savage, I'm looking to find some 3.25 white LED.s lamps now to replace the front running lights, added mirror LED turn light. Save the wear and tear and have it charged with 1 amp charger. It is only a 12 or 14 amp hour battery so don't leave it on overnight unless it is a auto shut off model. Even car/LT alternators are battery maintiners, not charger and you may shorten the alternator life by using it to charge a battery frequently. Actually might want to pull it before your tour overseas and have someone in your unit charge it once a month.
